U.S. Green Building Council’s 2020 Greenbuild Europe Conference Heads to Dublin, Ireland

The annual event that brings together European sustainability leaders will take place March 24-25, 2020; call for proposals is now open

Washington, D.C.— (July 8, 2019) — Today, the U.S. Green Building Council ( USGBC ) announces that the third annual Greenbuild Europe conference will be held in Dublin, Ireland on March 24-25, 2020 at Croke Park. The conference brings together green building leaders from throughout Europe and celebrates the industry’s accomplishments in creating a more sustainable built environment and a better quality of life for all. The call for proposals to submit new and compelling sessions for the conference is now open.

“Europe is at the forefront of green building,” said Mahesh Ramanujam, president & CEO, USGBC and Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI), the global certifying body for LEED. “With Europe’s remarkable leadership, Dublin, Ireland, is the perfect location for Greenbuild Europe as we work toward our vision of green buildings for everyone.”

Greenbuild Europe will feature sessions covering all aspects of sustainable design, construction and operations practices for buildings and communities, including their impact on people, the environment and the economy. Greenbuild attendees will learn about LEED v4 and v4.1, building performance, energy efficiency, codes, market trends, health and wellbeing, the business case for green building and more.

Founded in 2002, Greenbuild is presented by USGBC – the creators of the internationally recognized LEED green building rating program – and is the world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to green building. The event provides a forum for the community to unite, change lives, revolutionize business and address the world’s most pressing issues. Today, the conference takes place in several countries and regions throughout the world each year, including North America, Latin America, China and India, in addition to Europe.

Europe is a hotbed for green building activity and is home to more than 6,000 projects participating in LEED comprising more than 170 million gross square meters of space. Europe also has nearly 250 USGBC member companies and nearly 3,000 active LEED credential holders. USGBC will partner with the Irish Green Building Council (IGBC) to ensure a Greenbuild that is engaging, thought provoking and inclusive for all green building practitioners in the region, wherever they may be in their green building career and journey.

Greenbuild Europe is also looking for volunteers to serve on its Program Working Group (PWG) as Peer Reviewers who will evaluate session proposals and help maintain the quality of sessions by identifying exceptional presentations. Reviewers can earn continuing education hours and receive a discounted conference pass to Greenbuild Europe for participating in the working group.

Registration for Greenbuild Europe is expected to open in autumn 2019. Sponsorship opportunities are currently available. Sign up for information on Greenbuild Europe and to be notified when registration opens.
