Sarasota Film Festival

A ten day April event, featuring over 200 hundred films, more than 250 attending filmmakers, multiple special events, symposiums, panels and conversations with leaders in the industry.



Asolo Theater

Alliance Francaise

Offering monthly films, luncheons, aperitif get-togethers where topics of special interest are discussed in French and literary review meetings. Sarasota Jazz Festival

Held in March. Check web site for dates, times and locations. Founded by the late Hal Davis, the club has over 750 members with over 80 concerts and lectures each year.

Jazz in the Park, Jazz Trolley and concerts featuring Howard Alden, Harry Allen, Bill Allred, John Allred, Buster Cooper, Wycliffe Gordon, Barrie Lee Hall Orchestra, Dick Hyman, John Lamb, Jay Leonhardt, Ed Metz, Jr., James Moody, Lynn Roberts, Randy Sandke, Carol Welsman & the Canamger Dixieland Jazz Band.


International Arts Festival

A mix of theater, music, dance and performances that cross the line into different styles is held every fall on the grounds of the Ringling Museum of Art. This is a collaboration between the museum and the New York-based Baryshnikov Arts Center, which provides the artistic direction and selects most of the performers, groups and shows.

Chalk Festival

Sarasota's Chalk Festival is the first of its kind in the U.S. attracting International street artists who dazzle the crowds with three dimensional illusions that pop from the pavement.

This fall street painting event has been held annually since 2007 in downtown Sarasota on South Pineapple Ave. in the historic area known as Burns Square.

Sarasota Blues & Music Festival

Bring a hat and sunscreen to this fall fest held at Sarasota's Ed Smith Stadium featuring all day live entertainment, food, drink and crafts.


La Musica - Sarasota

April signals the arrival of outstanding musicians from Europe and the Americas for nearly three weeks of intense music-making. Rehearsals take place in the Mildred Sainer Pavilion of New College of Florida. Guest lectures, lectures by the musicians and special events for young people round out the Festival events. Concerts are performed at the Sarasota Opera House.


Bradenton Blues Festival

An awesome experience can be had in late fall, at Bradenton's Riverfront Amphitheatre, hosting a full day of sound from Renowned National Artists.


Venice Jazz Festival

This week-long event is held in March with 80 more concerts and lectures held throughout the year.


Season of Sculpture

Every fall, Sarasota's Bayfront Park unveils newly installed Sculptures from around the world. The city's permanent piece, "Unconditional Surrender", is popular among Tourists snapping photos of the towering World War II navy sailor dipping and kissing a very surprised nurse.


Siesta Key Crystal Classic

This week-long November event gathers Master Sculptors from around the world to create amazing, massive structures from the crystal sands of Siesta Beach
