My new boyfriend (my first!) came over to visit me for the evening. He was on his way back from Iowa and stopped just to see me (Happy Face!).
I totally wasn't expecting this and of course had nothing in the house for him to eat since I'm not the biggest of eaters anyway. He offered to take me out, but I was having none of that. I wanted to cook him something! It was just something I really needed to do.
Sooooo, I make a plan for dinner while he grabs a shower to clean up (all by himself, in case you're wondering :P)
Problem. His gigantic four wheel drive diesel beast truck was behind my little minivan, so I ask him to move it when he gets out.
Solution. He tells me the keys are in his coat, to just take his truck.
Me: Okaaaayyyy, are you sure???
Him: Sure, you've got a license, don't you?Me (mouth gaping): Yes, but it's your baby! I can't drive that! What if I wreck it or something?
Him: I feel sorry for whoever you hit.
Okay, I can do this. After a couple of words of advice on it, I head out to the white beast truck (Maybe a Chevrolet? I think so) I reach up to the door handle (yes, up) open it and, thankful I'm wearing jeans and not a skirt, climb in.
I feel swallowed up by the inside of the vehicle. I find the power seat adjustment and move it up, way up so i can see over the steering wheel (he's 6'3" I'm 5'1").
Then I start it and adjust everything including my glasses, and suddenly I'm the road princess!
I now get why all you guys like your trucks. I was up so high I could see everything!!
When I climbed out at the local Super Wally World, the looks I got from the people in the parking lot were priceless! As you can imagine, little Asian girl getting out of big truck is not something you see every day! :)
I still can't believe he let me do that....I didn't think guys would let a girl behind the wheel of their prize possession. I guess it's not as important as I thought. Oh well.
And...I made a pineapple glaze for already made chicken fingers (thanks for the idea, Bailey!)

Cindilee,
glad you had fun driving.
May Your Light Forever Shine
thanks!
I did!
Peace!Cindilee
Sounds like you had an
Sounds like you had an adventure. :)
Can't speak for most guys but I grew up always driving a truck, it's what I first learned to drive in. Any time I get into a small car I feel like I'm going to get run over. You're so close to the ground! If there is a car in front of you it totally blocks you view and it's so small inside! Needless to say I have very seldom driven anything besides a truck.
What your boyfriend said about feeling sorry for the other guy if you get in an accident is right enough. Trucks are far safer to be driving in than little cars. I would probably be dead if I hadn't been in a truck in my last accident. I (stupidly) pulled out when I shouldn't have and got broadsided by another big truck, rolled over once and then into a ditch on the side. They had to use the jaws of life to get me out. But in the end not a mark on me. I won't drive anything smaller than an SUV now, and ALWAYS wear my safety belt if in if it is just to go down the street (I was less than half a mile from my driveway when I got hit).
I do too!
Wear my safety belt, that is! I can't afford the ticket and I feel a LOT safer.
Peace!Cindilee
Maybe this will make you more masculine!
I was married for 40 years and she always got the new car. I was fine with that.
So, the day finally came when I got to have a new truck to pull her huge trailer. So we went out looking and found this brand new '93 Dodge, Cummins 4x4 that was built up to be a snow plow; extra coolers, springs and such. When we got in it to take it home, she let me drive and she got in the other side. The truck was so high that I soon installed steps on it so she could get in it in a skirt.
That night when she got in, she looked over at me and said, "I hope this makes you more masculine".
I never measured up to her idea of what a man was, so I joined the other side.

God, I hope not!
But then I don't get into cars and stuff. It was totally fun though! :)
Your wife was a joke no one laughed at.
You're more of a lady than she ever will be!
Peace!Cindilee
Clearly he trusts you.
He sounds like a rather awesome dude. Lucky you indeed. = )
Le Sigh.
I want a boyfriend like that!

Abigail Drew.
SMILES!!!!! :)
He is kinda awesome!
I'm a lucky girl...
Peace!Cindilee
You love to cook AND make a Pineapple glaze? Aaaaaaaaaaah!
Um,Cindi,
you interested in middle-aged Mid-Western guys?
-- snicker --
But then at 5FT 1 you are just a little taller than my mom's mom was. I only knew grandma after she'd had a serious stroke at 40 and a heart attack at 60 and still with one bad eye and a poor ear she could have ripped the armor of an army tank. Sweet little thing but with a will of adamantium steel.
Your boyfriend is a lucky person.
And he VOLUNTEERED for you to drive HIS truck? He has it baaaad for you.
- grin --
Hope RL and your muse permit you to write more.

And I am writing a couple of new things, but I won't post them until I a happy with them.
You're sweet!
