Hello guys, gals and non-binary pals! How is everyone doing? It’s been a hot minute.
So, I’ve come down with bronchitis but still chugging along. I’m running on steroids, albuterol and cough drops but at least I’m alive!
Would anyone be interested in reading a smallish snippet of my latest WIP and giving me their thoughts? You would, of course, be given a lot more context after reading it. It’s only about 12,000 words, but it’s an odd mix of genres. It’s fantasy with a smattering of sci-fi, and might actually fit under the arcanepunk genre, which is a thing I only recently learned exists. This is pretty different from a lot of the stuff up to now. I’m writing something more LGBTQIA+ affirming than what I’ve produced in the past.
There will not be “poof girl” transformations or anything of the sort. Think hormone replacement therapy, but with magic. Transitioning has given me a very different perspective on life and that shows through in my writing. There will be social and political commentary, as will be slightly allegorical to some of my life experiences. For example, a certain church of which I once belonged heavily inspired one of the primary antagonists in this story.
To be very clear, I do not intend to publish this story for free, like most of the stuff I’ve produced in the past.
