$1200 Ambulance Bill

The hospital is only about 3 miles, and damit, I survived. The news media keeps trying to drum up sympathy for the poor Ambulance folk. I'm not feeling it.

The upshot is that the debt will not be forgiven, so that will keep me short for up to 4 months.

Is this with Medicare Part B or without?

Perhaps I should challenge the bill???

What seems to be happening right now is that if the VA says the Ambulance trip was not necessary, then the Ambulance company bills me. Not being medically trained, I do not know if sudden thrombosis will lead to a blood clot in my lungs, or if sudden chest pain is a heart attack, or just gas? I've discovered that a Taxi is only about $25 up to the hospital. Perhaps I should get a lawyer. So far, trying to talk to Medicare is awful.

Budget is a bit tight at the moment, especially with needing to run AC more often. But sent what was feasible beyond the monthly. <3

For me it is the opposite in my more northern part of the country. My winter heating bill runs 160 to 230 or so a month and summer runs about 93 dollars a month. I set my thermostat to 71 in winter and 78 in summer. My heat pump is definitely more efficient at cooling than heating I think and the difference in the bill reflects that. And the heat pump stays on 24/7. Gotta keep the kitty comfortable !

Still, I too anticipate repairs to my privacy fence due to winter storms, finish the repair to my garage that was damaged by said winter storm/tree branch and just aging, weathering in general, concrete/stucco work again due to weathering and shoddy work by the previous owner, replacement decorative shutters around the windows due to aging; one literally partially pulled out of the wall. And I am aging too :( duh so I am becoming high maintenance too.

So I still have to budget for all that house stuff once I get the estimate.

I was planning to somehow do some bucket list travelling but I will have to put that on hold.

And I still have not paid off my mortgage, might not happen till just before I retire.
