A number of you have very kindly been worried after 'Cassandra' - Chapter 20 failed to materialise a timely manner.

First of all please don't worry, I'm fine and the story is definitely not being deserted. It's just that real life got in the way.

Here's the story. I'm currently retraining as a high school teacher (US) / teacher - KS 3 - 5 (UK). My year long college course to be certified as a teacher started on Tuesday and the last two weeks have been manic keeping me busy with 10 hour plus days.

"10 hours?" I hear you scoff with a Monty Pythonesque Yorkshire accent. "I work 14 hours down t'pit and then walk home though a snow storm up hill barefoot for an hour each way!"

Yep. I'm a wimp. I need time and space to write.

So, here's the question. I can rush it and try and get something out soon... or I can have fun, relax, enjoy writing and complete the last two or three chapters.

I already know my answer. I truly had hoped to finish before I started my course, but I will not compromise my passion to teach young minds to achieve and make a difference, just because I also want to indulge in my love of writing.

This is what I aspire to.

"............. or I can have fun, relax, enjoy writing and complete the last two or three chapters. "

You will have more time to write it and will enjoy it more than trying to rush something out. If you enjoy it more that will show in the writing and we, the readers will enjoy it more, so everyone wins.

Take your time, let it happen.

Everyone will have to SITFU :)

cheers

thank you

thank you, Cassandra has been the first thing I looked for any time I clicked on big closet. keep the good work.robert

I was a bit worried.

In fact, I only just came on the site to PM you to tell you that my SKYPE is not functioning. I've used the same one for over a decade and suddenly pftt!!! I think that perhaps Google, Microsoft and who knows who else are in an evil cooperation to get everyone to use their real, registered name on the Internet, and for me, at this time that is not my goal.

I do hope that you have a grand time learning to herd cats in High School. :)

I can wait. Thank you for checking in.

Well. There is only ...

... one answer to this Jenny.

YOU need to be at your best to write your best. And I, as a fan of yours only want your best, especially for this amazing story.

Take your time, and thank you again as always for what you have already given us, and for what is still to come.

PS. I also lectured at college level for about 10 years of my life and loved teaching people skills that they could build their lives around.
It is such an amazing feeling when you see within a students eyes that moment when 'it all comes together'.
That to me was almost the best drug known to man...

"Life in general is a fuck up,
but it is the rare moments of beauty and peace
in between the chaos,
That makes it worth living."
- Tertia Hill

Wimp out.

Go ahead do the reasonable, sane, sensible, logical thing. Do not submit to the societal pressure on males to take action even if it is insane and destructive. Do the Femm thing instead.

Do your best.

Enjoy real life.

And my personal preference is that Cassandra is written better rather than faster because this is a story I will reread. Thank you so much for writing it.

Don't push your muse

The words will come when they're ready, we can wait for the good stuff.

You than me! I know a few teachers and a few would be teachers and even at pre teen level its a nightmare of paperwork v teaching. Throw in the box of frogs that is teenagers and your passion for teaching young minds will be sorely dented. It's not like it was when we were kids back in the 70's when teachers taught and there was discipline not just at school but in kids homes as well.
I hope you do enjoy it but you might have to lower your expectations.Good luck

It sounds exciting!

Persephone what an exciting time going back to school. I am sure that this retraining will keep you plenty busy.I wish you the best.

Training to be a teacher?

A high strees occupation at the best of times but made worse by unresonable parents who are unable to handle their own responsibilities in educating their kids. Of course thats the the minority who get all the publicity. There are a lot of good schools with kids who want to learn so choose carefully and enjoy it. I look forward to the next episode of Cassandra
