The dimerization is achieved in liquid phase at ambient temperature by means of a soluble catalytic complex. Several reactors in series are used. After elimination of the catalyst the products are separated in an appropriate distillation section. Economics: Typical requrements are given for a plant charging 50,000 t/y of a C4 cut containing 75% of n-butenes and producing 25,800 t/y of octenes. |
