제목 Rational Design of Highly-Stable and -Reactive Au Single Atom Catalysts Dispersed on Hybrid-oxide Support
초록 Single-atom catalysts (SACs), which are atomically dispersed metals on a support surface, have been regarded as a next generation catalyst with exceptional catalytic efficiency. However, the thermodynamic instability of the SACs leads to agglomeration into NPs. Here, we synthesized Au/CeO 2 -TiO 2 hybrid-oxide catalysts using deposition-precipitation method to design reactive and stable Au SACs for low-temperature CO oxidation. The structure of synthesized Au/CeO 2 -TiO 2 was characterized by HRTEM, XRD, and XPS analysis, and the catalytic properties were investigated using the CO oxidation reaction. Anchored Au single atoms at the CeO 2 -TiO 2 interface show higher activity for low-temperature CO oxidation than Au/TiO 2 catalysts. Based on a combinatorial study of DFT calculations and experimental catalyst analysis, we suggest a methodology to design the significantly active Au SACs and provide an insight into the stabilization of the Au single atoms under the reaction condition.
