제목 Effective Work Function Shift of Gold and Silver on Cathode Interlayer in Organic Solar Cells
초록 Recently, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of organic solar cells (OSCs) has been reported over 16% thanks to the development of novel electron donor and acceptor materials such as PM6:Y6. As well as photoactive materials, cathode interlayers (CILs) have been developed to enhance charge transfer from active layer to electrode. However, unlike newly developed active and interlaying materials, research on metal electrode still stays on the past. In OSCs, only low work function metals such as silver and aluminum are used in consideration of the energy level of photoactive materials. This is because the voltage loss is large in the case of high work function metals in same OSC device. However, in this study, for the first time, we conducted a study to obtain a high open-circuit voltage (V oc ) using a high work function metal gold (Au) as top electrode in interlayer employed OSCs. The large work function shift was analyzed through UPS and simulation. As a result, we achieved 14% power conversion efficiency with 0.853V (V oc ).
