제목 The enhancing thermal conductivity by self-assembly properties of liquid crystal based on PEG-backbone polymer
초록 Liquid crystal polymers are fascinating materials that have both the self-assembly properties of liquid crystals and the physical properties of polymers. In particular, due to the characteristics of self-assembly by intermolecular interaction, the phonon transmission of polymer materials can be induced to improve thermal conductivity. Thermal conductive polymers have received scientific attention as a heat dissipation material for applying electric devices. Despite the tremendous effort of overcoming the limitation of thermal conductivity of polymer materials, the high thermal conductivity is still being challenged. In this study, we synthesize polyethylene glycol(PEG) based liquid crystal polymer and investigate the correlation between self-assembly and thermal conductivity through analysis of polarizing optical microscopy(POM), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), X-ray diffractometer(XRD) and thermal conductivity(TC) measurement system.
