제목 Optimization of Operating Conditions of a Pervaporation Process for Production of Anhydrous Ethanol
초록 In this work, pervaporation experiments have been performed of near–azeotropic ethanol mixtures (94–97 wt.% ethanol) through the commercial membrane (GFT Cross–linked PVA/PAN) with flow rates 40–80 L/h, at temperatures 50–70 ℃, and at permeate pressure of 0.5 torr, using a laboratory–scale apparatus. The basic experiment has been done according to central composite rotatable design (CCRD). To describe the response functions in pervaporation performance such as permeate flux and separation factor, the second–order polynomial regression models were obtained by statistical analysis from experimental outcomes. The results of investigation the effect of operating conditions (temperature, concentration, and flow rate of feed) on pervaporation process showed that the permeate flux and separation factor are most affected by feed temperature and feed concentration. The simultaneous optimization and trade–off were done by using the overall desirability function to maximize the objective functions, and achieved with the reasonable flux of 81.6 g/m2 h and separation factor of 110. A set of experimental conditions to break the azeotropic ethanol (95.5 wt.%) also was found at 66 ℃, and 40 L/h with flux of 70.3 g/m2 h and selectivity of 99.3.
