제목 | Techno-economic and environmental analysis of CO 2 utilization framework for liquid fuels and chemical productions |
초록 | Carbon capture and utilization for energy-based products (CCU4E) has contributed to climate change mitigation and energy security since it generates high-value chemicals and fuels sharing the convention resource’s burden. This work developed a CCU4E framework including 72 CO 2 -to-fuel pathways adopted several CO 2 utilization technologies (e.g., catalytic conversion, thermochemical energizing, electrochemical reduction) for various fuels. The framework was analyzed using process systems engineering (PSE)-centric techniques such as simulation and optimization, techno-economic analysis, and environmental impact evaluation. Also, the sensitivity and extended analysis were performed for globally/locally and present/future situations for understanding of the important role of H 2 in economic potential and CO 2eq mitigation. As a result, the renewable-based H 2 is indicated as a key factor in CCU4E application with cheaper price and reduce a huge CO 2eq emission. Moreover, the work provides practical strategies to countries to use domestic resources for CCU4E in the balance of economics and environmental protection. |
