CHONBURI– In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, a 35-year-old man named Kitti is now facing six serious criminal charges for the alleged sexual abuse of more than 10 young boys.
The events unfolded on Monday, April 27, in the Si Racha district of Chonburi, Thailand. Police moved forward with the heavy charges after frustrated parents and a high-profile child rights advocate demanded immediate action.
The suspect initially claimed his actions were a bizarre form of “self-defense,” but authorities are now moving quickly to bring justice to the victims and their families.
A Long Wait for Justice
This tragic story began months ago. The mother of a 13-year-old boy, known by the alias “A”, first went to the police late last year. She took her son to Laem Chabang Hospital for a check-up and filed a formal report. Sadly, the case saw no movement for nearly a year, leaving the family feeling entirely abandoned.
Families in the area felt ignored and helpless. They worried the suspect would never face real consequences. However, the situation changed dramatically when a famous advocate stepped in, shining a spotlight on the quiet village and forcing authorities to take notice.
On April 26, Boom Panadda Wongphudee, president of the Goodness Foundation, visited the community with child welfare officials. They came to check on the victims’ mental health. To everyone’s surprise, they discovered the number of abused children in the village was much higher than first thought, totaling over 10 boys.
During this visit, the suspect was invited to speak. In a shocking moment, he openly admitted to his actions but offered a strange excuse. He claimed he had been physically bullied by these boys in the past while walking home. He told the crowd his actions were simply a way to protect himself.
Naturally, this excuse angered residents. Villagers gathered to watch the confrontation, and some were so furious they tried to rush past police to attack the suspect. Officers had to step in quickly to block the crowd and keep the area safe.
Official Police Action and the Charges
Despite his earlier confession to the community, Kitti has now changed his story. He officially denied all the accusations when speaking to the police. But authorities are not backing down.
Police Colonel Komkrit Manjit, chief of the Nong Kham Police Station , stated his team is gathering strong evidence to build a solid case. They have officially filed six heavy charges against the suspect. These include:
- Taking a child under 15 from their parents for indecent acts.
- Leading a child under 15 away for indecent purposes.
- Committing statutory rape against a child under 13.
- Committing indecent acts against a child under 13.
- Committing physical assault against another person.
- Forcing someone with threats of harm to act against their will.
The focus is now shifting to the well-being of the young boys. On Monday morning, social workers from the Chonburi Provincial Social Development and Human Security Office stepped in to help. They safely transported the group of victims to the hospital for thorough physical and emotional health check-ups.
This important case serves as a loud reminder that child safety must always remain a top priority. The swift action from advocates shows the power of speaking up. As the police continue to dig into the facts, the community is hoping that the legal system will finally provide the closure these families deserve.
