There are different ways to respond to a Facebook event:
You can log in to Facebook
and respond from your account.
If you receive an invitation through email or text message (SMS), you can use the link in that message to respond to the event. You don’t need to be on Facebook or have an account to respond with your email or phone number. Learn more about how invitations work for people off of Facebook

and select the event.

Follow the step below for the event type:
Public events
: Tap Interested
or Going

Private events
: Tap Going

or Can't Go

Depending on the privacy setting of the event, people may be able to see if you're Interested
or Going
in a Feed story, through notifications, on the event itself or in the Events section of your profile.
Respond to an email or text message invitation

Go to the email or text message you received from the host.

Respond to the message:

You can add a public event as your location shortly before, during and shortly after an event. People in the audience of your post
can see and comment on it.

From your Feed, tap What's on your mind?

Write a post or add a photo.

Swipe up, then tap Tag event

Enter the event name, then tap it to select it.
If you uploaded a photo without tagging an event as its location, you can do this later by viewing the photo, clicking Add Location
and entering the event's name.

People may be able to see if you're interested or going to an event depending on the event's privacy settings. You can also save an event to keep your interest in an event private.
Public events
If it's a public event
, only friends and hosts can see if you're interested or going. They may see your status in a Feed post, notification, on the Event page itself or in the Events section of your profile. You can control the visibility of your response on the Event page.
Private events
If it's a private event
, everyone invited to the event is able to see if you're going. People who aren’t invited can’t view who’s attending, the event description, event discussion, photos or videos.
Save an event
If you want to keep your interest in an event private, you can save it:

Only the host can post in an event for some events.
For some events, hosts must approve posts before they appear. If the host approves your post, it will appear in the event discussion.
If you continue to experience problems posting in an event, you can report a problem
