You can use Facebook to recover an account on another website or service (example: GitHub). Keep in mind that you can only turn on account recovery if the website or service supports it.
Turn on account recovery
To turn on account recovery, you’ll need to set up an account key:
1.
Go to the website or service.
2.
Select Facebook when you’re asked how you’d like to recover your account. The Account Recover Facebook page will load.
3.
Click Turn On . You’ll be taken back to the website or service.
4.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
You can add a name for an account key in your Security and login settings .
Recover an account
1.
Make sure you’re logged into your Facebook account.
2.
Go to the website or service.
3.
Select Facebook when you’re asked how you’d like to recover your account. The Account Recover Facebook page will load.

Delete an account key
You can delete an account key from your Facebook account. When you delete an account key, you won’t be able to recover that account using Facebook.
1.
Click your profile picture in the top right of Facebook.
2.
Select Settings & privacy , then click Settings .
3.
Select Security and Login .
4.
Scroll down to Recover External Accounts and click Edit .
5.
Hover over the account key you want to delete and click x .
6.
Enter the word DELETE in the box.
7.
Click Delete Account Key .
