You can't turn off notifications entirely, but you can adjust how and what you're notified about
.
Notifications are updates about Facebook activity. The types of notifications that exist depend on what platform you're using.
Desktop and Mobile
Red Alert Notifications:
Notifications that appear above
. When you have a new notification, a red bubble will appear with the number of new notifications you've received.
Email Notifications:
Notifications you receive via email. Learn more about email notifications

Push Notifications:
Notifications that appear when you're not actively using Facebook. Learn more about mobile

Desktop Only
Pop-up Notifications:
Notifications that pop up on your screen when you're logged in to Facebook and a friend interacts with you (example: posts on your timeline). Click the notification to see the story or click X
to close the notification.
Mobile Only
Text Notifications:

Classic Pages on Facebook are updating to the new Pages experience
. You’ll still have access to many of the same features to manage your professional presence, build your brand or business, grow your audience and connect with followers. Your content, insights, ads, Likes and followers will automatically transfer when your Page updates.
When you change your notification settings for a Page you help manage, the notification settings of others who help manage the Page won't be affected. Others who work on the Page will still get notifications about the Page based on the settings they've chosen.
If you've turned on notifications in your Page settings and still aren't receiving any notifications, it may be because you turned off notifications on your mobile device. Try tapping Settings
, then Notifications
on your mobile device and make sure your notifications for Facebook are turned on.
If you have Facebook access
to a Page, follow the instructions below to manage your Page notification settings. If you have task access
to a Page, you can only manage settings for Page notifications
from your main profile.
Manage your notification settings for a Page

Log into Facebook from a computer.
2.
Log into Facebook, then click your profile photo in the top right.
3.
Click See all profiles
, then select the Page you want to switch into.
4.
In the top right, click your Page photo, then click Settings & Privacy
.

Click Settings
, then click Notifications
in the left menu.

Select which notifications you want to receive on Facebook.

From you Feed, tap Search

If you comment on a post, post notifications will automatically be turned on. If you turn on notifications for a post, you'll get notified whenever someone comments on the post. You won't get notified when someone replies to a comment.
To turn post notifications on or off:

Go to the post that you'd like to turn notifications on or off.

and select Turn on notifications for this post
