You can create albums on Facebook with a collection of photos, videos or posts from a special time or place, like a birthday party or vacation.

Getting Started

You can create an album with photos and videos.

To create a new album:

Tap

in the top right of Facebook, then tap your name.

2.

Scroll down and tap Photos .

3.

Tap Create Album .

4.

Enter an album title. You can also change the privacy of your album by tapping Share with .

5.

Tap Create Album .

You can then tap

Add Photos to begin adding to your new album.

Tap

in the top right of Facebook, then tap your name.

2.

Swipe down and tap Photos .

3.

Tap Create Album .

4.

Enter an album title. You can also:

Add a description.

Add a location.

Select your audience (example: Public , Friends ).

5.

Tap Save .

You can then tap

Add Photos to begin adding to your new album.

Delete an album on Facebook

Delete an album on Facebook

Deleting an album also deletes photos in the album. Once you delete an album, you can't restore it.

Note: Certain photo albums, including Profile pictures, Cover photos, and Mobile uploads can't be deleted. You can still delete photos in those albums.

To delete an album:

Scroll down and tap Photos .

3.

Tap the album you want to delete. You can tap More Albums to find it.

4.

Tap

then tap Edit .

5.

Tap Delete Album , then tap Delete Album again to confirm.

Add to an existing album on Facebook

Add to an existing album on Facebook

You can only add to albums you've created or a shared album you're a contributor to . Live videos can't be added to an album.

Note: You can upload up to 1000 photos to an album.

To add photos or a post to an existing album:

1.

Tap

in the top right of Facebook, then tap your name.

2.

Tap Photos .

3.

Tap the album you want to add photos to.

4.

Tap Add Photos .

5.

Tap Done , then tap Post .

Your album's privacy settings determine who can see your post . You can't change a post's privacy without changing the privacy of the album.

How do I leave a shared album on Facebook?

To leave a shared album you've been added to:

1.

Tap

in the top right of Facebook, then tap your name.

2.

Tap Photos .

3.

Tap on the album.

4.

Tap

in the top right.

5.

Tap Leave Album .

6.

Tap Yes, Leave Album .

Depending on the privacy settings of the shared album, you may not be able to view the album after you leave it.

Any photos or videos you've added to a shared album will remain in the album after you leave it. If you delete a photo on Facebook, it will be removed from any shared albums it was added to, including shared albums that you've left.

Change your photo album's privacy setting on Facebook

To edit the privacy settings for your photo albums:

1.

In the top right of Facebook, tap

, then tap your name.

2.

Scroll down and tap Photos .

3.

Tap the album you'd like to change the privacy settings for. You can tap More Albums to find it.

4.

Tap

and select Edit .

5.

Tap Audience to choose who can see your album.

6.

Tap to select a new audience (Example: Friends ).

7.

Tap Save .

Only the person who posted an album can change its privacy settings. Find out what to do if you don't like a photo you're tagged in .
