Ways to increase safety on Instagram

If you've navigated to this page, it's likely that you've had a negative experience on Instagram. We understand that it can be frustrating when online interactions become difficult. You may have had an argument with someone else on Instagram or come across posts that you find offensive.
We care about your safety and want to help you have more control over the content and accounts you see and the interactions you have on Instagram.
We already take steps to make Instagram safe, like:
Removing content that goes against Community Guidelines .
Making content and accounts that go against our Recommendation Guidelines , but don’t go against Community Guidelines, harder to find in Explore and hashtag pages .
Adding a warning screen to photos and videos that contain sensitive or graphic content to let people know about the content before they view it. This warning appears when viewing a post in Feed or on someone's profile.
You can also control some of your experiences on Instagram by using different features and settings like:
Setting your account to private so that only the followers you approve can see what you share on Instagram.
Using the Sensitive Content Control to choose how much content you see in Explore, Search, Reels, Accounts You Might Follow and Recommendations in your feed that you might find upsetting or offensive.
Unfollowing or blocking someone who’s sharing photos or videos that make you uncomfortable.
Restricting someone so their comments on your posts aren’t visible to others on Instagram.
Temporarily limiting unwanted comments and messages from accounts that aren’t following you.
Hiding potentially offensive comments and message requests you don’t want to see.
Reporting posts, profiles , and comments that you think go against our Community Guidelines. Keep in mind that your report is anonymous, except if you’re reporting an intellectual property infringement. The account you reported won’t see who reported them.
