Ahead of the release of their debut studio album, The Record , indie rock supergroup Boygenius (Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus) have announced a U.S. tour making two stops in North Carolina: Asheville (Harrah’s Cherokee Center) on June 13 and Wilmington (Live Oak Bank Pavilion) on June 14 .
Opening for the North Carolina dates will be Bartees Strange, who is coming off the release of his critically acclaimed sophomore album, Farm to Table , released through 4AD. The album was named the 16th best of 2022 by Rolling Stone , and seventh best by the New York Times . Clairo, Carly Rae Jepsen, Broken Social Scene, and Illuminati Hotties will open on other dates.
Boygenius formed in 2018 and released their self-titled debut EP in the same year. The band has released four singles: “$20,” “True Blue,” “Emily I’m Sorry,” and “Not Strong Enough,” ahead of the release of their new album, The Record, due out on Friday, March 31.
