This workshop will provide hands-on learning of mapping and GIS techniques.  We will work with geospatial data and Geographic Information Systems, geared to data analysis, maps and visualizations.  We'll work with the basics of geospatial data and discuss reproducible workflows with geospatial data and analysis.

Steve joined Research Computing in 2015 as a GIS Specialist. He has extensive experience with Geographic Information Systems and geospatial databases.  Steve greatly enjoys teaching others and has taught workshops in GIS, Matlab, Python scripting, R scripting and Qualtrics.  He has experience with data science, data wrangling, data visualization and the development of reproducible workflows through coding. Outside the office, you'll often find him exploring the outdoors trail running, mountain biking, skiing and coaching youth sports.
