Position Purpose
Develops and implements marketing strategies to promote the Geisel School of Medicine’s Health Science programs, particularly focusing on the admissions process and student recruitment. Creates and manages campaigns, content creation, and outreach efforts to attract and engage prospective students in collaboration with the Geisel unified communications and marketing team. Works closely with the admissions team, academic departments, and other stakeholders to drive enrollment and support Geisel’s strategic admissions goals.

Bachelors plus 3-5 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing, preferably in higher education admissions.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, including social media, email marketing, and online advertising.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content and presentations.
  • Significant experience with the Slate platform or other similar CRM systems.
  • Experience in web content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Concrete, HTML )
  • Detailed knowledge of current online tools and marketing trends, including SEO
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working with diverse teams and fostering an inclusive work environment.
  • Creativity, initiative, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • More than 6 years’ experience successfully leading marketing and digital marketing activities at a higher education institution or organization with similar institutional priorities and performance standards.
  • Optimism, high energy, and a sense of humor are valuable assets.
  • Expertise with Canva, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Evidence of a collaborative style in a project-based setting.

Description
Content Development and Brand Management
  • With the Associate Director, track admissions funnel numbers from inquiry to enrollment and provide progress reports.
  • Develop and execute marketing plans in coordination with the Director and Associate Director to support recruitment and drive enrollment and awareness across Geisel Health Science programs.
  • Develop ideas, engaging content, and copywriting for various marketing channels, including social media, email campaigns, website, brochures, and other promotional materials.
  • Collaborate with the digital marketing team to implement marketing campaigns across digital and traditional platforms, including social media, email, pay-per-click advertising, and print media.
  • Serve as web administrator by creating content for the web, managing web updates and structure changes, and editing as needed.
  • Assist in developing digital media and content to engage audiences across various social media platforms.
  • Plan and create content for digital communications to leverage effective storytelling to feature department initiatives and programs.

Marketing and recruitment
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director of Admissions to design and execute comprehensive marketing plans to increase awareness and interest in Geisel Health Science programs.
  • Review program websites regularly, write copy, and suggest structural changes to optimize impact on recruitment and enrollment.
  • Act as point person with Geisel unified communications and marketing team to produce engaging and on-brand marketing materials and advertising pieces, including posters, direct mail, web copy, brochures, and other advertising methods for applicable programs.
  • Keep up to date with marketing and advertising methods, media, and trends to identify, research, and propose new marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the admissions team to ensure seamless communication and support for prospective students throughout the application process.
