Aug 21: GROW Team Arrives in Chiang Mai!

The Dartmouth GROW team (Leigh Ann Humphries ’13, Katharine Pujol ’13, Nick Jensen ’15, Ayesha Dholakia ’15, and Julia Salinaro ’15) has finally reached Chiang Mai. We flew into Hong Kong (or in Katharine’s case, Beijing) and transferred on a flight to Bangkok, arriving just before midnight on August 20.

In the morning, we enjoyed a long yet scenic train ride from Chiang Mai to Bangkok. We passed around Julia’s Thai phrasebook, learned about Thai history and culture from other informational books, took in the beautiful Thai countryside (see pics), and had some time to bond with each other.

After 14 hours, we met Mai, the Deputy Coordinator of KWAT’s migrant worker program and one of our main contacts at KWAT, at the station and are currently at our hotel, the D-Town Inn, located within walking distance of the train station and the KWAT office.
