Course Description

This course will give you an overview of the principles of economics. More importantly, the course will help you make better decisions in your life and career by applying these principles. The course is largely divided into the microeconomic and the macroeconomic portion. The former looks at individual, household, and firm decisions and how they affect the economy and the latter deals with big determinants of our economy such as GDP, inflation, and the business cycle. This is a University-approved course satisfying the quantitative reasoning “Q” competence requirement essential for your liberal arts education at DePauw. You will need to earn at least a C- or higher to earn the Q competence credit.
