There's a detailed guide explaining the units used in air quality monitoring, and graphical representations of this data, as well as visual imagery to display pollution levels in the air over the city.
Southwest Center for Environmental Research and Policy is a consortium of U.S. and Mexican universities dedicated to applied environmental research of the U.S.-Mexican border region. Created by an act of the U.S. Congress in 1990, the consortium seeks to provide comprehensive analysis of solutions to regional pollution problems from all media.
Commission for Environmental Cooperation was created to address environmental concerns and potential trade conflicts following the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Its work program on pollution prevention focuses on health risks posed by transboundary pollution between the U.S., Mexico and Canada. One project, which parallels work conducted by the NIPR team, compiles a pollutant release inventory and establishes public access to the information.
The World Bank's Clean Air Initiative in Latin American Cities seeks to promote clean air action plans in major Latin cities based on the participation of relevant stakeholders. The CAI fosters public participation by stakeholders, including the private sector, to exchange knowledge and experiences in the implementation of use of low-emission, low-carbon technologies. Among the cities involved in the program are Buenos Aires, Lima, Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro and Santiago.
