A new global collaboration among SUNx Malta , the International Institute for Peace Through Tourism (IIPT), and the World Tourism Network (WTN) aims to introduce the Dodo4Kids early-learning program to more than 450 Peace Parks worldwide — combining climate education, sustainability awareness, and a renewed commitment to peaceful travel.
The initiative, developed in cooperation with Dodo4Kids, represents a significant step toward integrating family-focused climate resilience and nature-positive education into tourism destinations that promote peace and understanding.
A New Vision for Climate-Friendly Early Learning
SUNx Malta President Prof. Geoffrey Lipman described the agreement as a powerful new way to advance climate education through tourism. By linking the Dodo4Kids system with IIPT’s long-established Peaceful Traveller Code, the partners aim to inspire younger generations to become responsible global citizens.
According to Lipman, the program blends storytelling, nature awareness, and sustainable values into an accessible early-learning model that can be implemented in Peace Parks worldwide. The initiative emphasizes climate resilience, environmental stewardship, and respect for cultural diversity — all delivered through a family-friendly educational framework.
“We see this as an important evolution in tourism education,” Lipman said, highlighting how early learning can help shape more sustainable travel behaviors in the future. “We are delighted to partner with WTN to spread these powerful messages around the world.”
Global Collaboration for Peace and Tourism
The International Institute for Peace Through Tourism brings decades of experience in promoting tourism as a force for understanding and cooperation. Through its network of Peace Parks — destinations dedicated to cultural exchange and environmental protection — the organization provides an ideal platform for introducing Dodo4Kids.
The World Tourism Network is supporting the rollout by connecting destinations, industry stakeholders, and policymakers, helping ensure the program reaches communities across continents.
Together, the partners hope to demonstrate how tourism can serve as a catalyst for climate action while reinforcing the values of peace, education, and sustainability.
Pre-ITB Berlin Roundtable Dinner
The announcement comes ahead of a special roundtable dinner hosted by the World Tourism Network in Berlin on March 2, the evening before ITB Berlin opens on March 3. Prof. Geoffrey Lipman will attend the gathering, which brings together influential leaders from across the tourism sector.
Among the distinguished guests expected are Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, the Hon. Edmund Bartlett — widely recognized for advancing tourism resilience — and Deepak Joshi, CEO of the Nepal Tourism Board.
The dinner will focus on collaboration, innovation, and the future of sustainable tourism, providing a platform to discuss initiatives such as the global expansion of Dodo4Kids.
Limited Seats Available
Fewer than ten seats remain for participants who wish to attend the exclusive pre-ITB Berlin networking dinner. Industry professionals who will be in Berlin on March 2 are encouraged to secure their place by registering through the official event page.
