[Strong acid] Zao Hot spring "A tour of the three communal baths that flow from the sources for only 200 yen / day

Zao Hot springin Yamagata Prefecture is on a par with Manza Onsen in Gunma Prefecture. style = "font-size: large;"> "Strongly acidic"hot springs.

IMG20210627080216.jpg

Acidity (alkalinity)) is expressed by the pH value, and it is as follows in order from the one with the strongest acidity, but it seems that the ph value of Zao Onsen is 1.6.
・ Strong acidity: pH value 2.9 or less
・ Weakly acidic: pH value 3.0 to less than 5.9
・ Neutral: pH value 6.0 to less than 7.5
・ Weakly alkaline: pH value 7.5 to less than 8.5
・ Alkaline: pH value less than 80 to 10.0
・ Strong alkalinity: pH value 10.0 ~

The famous "Tamagawa Onsen" in Akita Prefecture seems to have a pH of 1.2, so it is not as good as it should be, but since "Kusatsu Onsen" has a pH of 2.05, it has a higher acidity than this.

As an effect, it is said to be effective for skin diseases, heart, constipation, and diabetes.

Zao Onsen has a long history, and the opening of the hot spring is 110 AD, so it has a history of more than 1900 years. It's amazing.
IMG20210627074523.jpg

There are 3 communal baths "Kamiyu", "Shimoyu" and "Kawarayu" in Zao Onsen, but you can take a bath in all 3 places for 200 yen / day. It's a very profitable bathhouse because it's all flowing from the source and has a very tasteful atmosphere. Personally, I felt that "Kawarayu" was the best, but what about everyone?
It's a very nice hot spring, so please visit it once.

Nikkou-Tei Oyu, a hot spring that flows directly from the source, which is rare in Atami,Japan

Needless to say, "Atami", the most famous hot spring resort in Japan

Along with the collapse of the bubble economy, Atami Onsen also collapsed for a period of time, but in recent years it has revived brilliantly. The shopping street in front of the station and the old-fashioned inn have been completely renovated and new hotels are being built.

Atami is a hot spring that Ieyasu Tokugawa and Yoshimune Tokugawa also liked very much, and has been very famous since the Edo period. And many hotels and inns are still lined up.
Therefore, the disadvantage is that there are too many inns compared to the amount of hot springs, and there are not many day-trip bathing facilities that flow directly from the source in Atami.

IMG20210723134412.jpg

In Atami, Nikkou-Tei Oyu, which was founded as a hot spring inn in 1945 and is now a one-day bath facility, is known among hot spring lovers as a famous hot spring that flows directly from the source, and many people visit it. There is.

I visited here on a very hot day in late July, but there were still many visitors. There were also some young couples. I think I really like hot springs.

The hot springs are colorless and transparent. The hot water has a slightly hard impression, probably because it contains a lot of salt and calcium.

The place name Atami comes from the fact that the hot springs that spring in this area are extremely hot, but the source temperature of Nikkou-Tei is 98 ° C or higher, so it is extremely hot.

However, in order to protect the quality of the hot springs, water is not added, and the temperature is adjusted by increasing or decreasing the amount of hot water added to the bathtub.

After taking a bath at Nikkou-tei, I walked to the coast of Atami.
There are various souvenir shops, fashionable cafes and restaurants along the way, and it's fun just to look at them.

IMG20210723171523.jpg

There were some customers who were bathing on the beach.
Stay at a hot spring inn right in front of the beach, enjoy the sea bathing, have a delicious dinner, and bathe in the hot springs. It's a luxury, but I couldn't stay because I had another plan the next day. disappointing.

Shiobara Hot spring Resort /Superb view of the valley and "Iwa no Yu" and "Fudo no Yu"

There are three famous public open-air baths "Momiji no Yu" , "Iwa no Yu" and "Fudo no Yu" in Shiobara Hot spring Resort in Tochigi Prefecture,Japan.

IMG20210503135729.jpg

"Momiji no Yu" is currently temporarily closed due to the corona damage, but it is still alive.
Unfortunately, "Iwa no Yu" was temporarily closed due to a rockfall.
"Fudo no Yu" has been closed except for a certain period of time because some mindless people continued to shoot suspicious videos and upload them on the web. .. I'm really sorry.

All of them were very nice open-air baths where anyone can enjoy the hot springs flowing from the source in the best scenery of Shiobara at any time, just by paying a small amount, so I sincerely hope that they will be revived after the corona disaster. I will.

By the way, of the three public open-air baths, "Iwanoyu" and "Fudonoyu" are one of the symbols of Shiobara Onsen, which is one of the symbols of Shiobara Onsen. I walked along the promenade along the Hokigawa Valley.
Shiobara Onsen is a very scenic spot, but there are very nice promenades everywhere, making it ideal for a short hike. I think that even those who are not confident in their physical strength can enjoy it.
You can check the hiking course on the "Shiobara Onsen Visitor Center" website below.

Please watch this video to see the beauty of the valley of Shiobara Onsen along with the current status of "Iwanoyu" and "Fudonoyu".

The open-air bath at Tokusa Onsen, a secret hot spring, was the best / Minamiaizu Town, Fukushima Prefecture

I went to the Tokusa Hot spring communal bath, which is a secret hot spring in Minamiaizu Town, Fukushima Prefecture, which is very well known to hot spring fans.

This is a mixed bathing open-air bath that flows directly from the source, and you can enter it 24 hours a day.
There used to be a roof above the open-air bath, but it was washed away and now there are only two stone baths.

木賊温泉(サムネイル).jpg

The hot water is colorless and transparent. I smelled a little sulfur.
Since no trash is floating, you can take a bath very comfortably.
Please come and visit us.

I really recommend this hot spring.

Original scenery of Japan "Maezawa Magariya Village" (On the way to Tokusa and Yunohana Hot spring in South Aizu from Shiobara Hot spring resort)

Do you know "Magariya" ?

IMG_20210502_101621.jpg

"Magariya" is one of the architectural styles of traditional houses (private houses), and refers to L-shaped flat houses as opposed to rectangular flat straight houses (Sugoya). The interior consists of a livestock breeding space, a work / storage space, and a living space.

Maezawa Magariya Village, located in South Aizu Town, Fukushima Prefecture Japan, is a village that still retains the original scenery of Japanese agricultural and mountain villages. In 1907, a large fire struck that almost all the houses in the village disappeared, and then the same carpenter group in the surrounding area built each house at one time, creating a unified landscape. In June 2011, it was designated as a national "Important Traditional Buildings Preservation District" for this unified landscape protection.
There are 20 traditional houses in the village, including 13 Magariyas, and people still live here.

In addition, there are old folk house cafe "Irori", soba restaurant "Magariya", "Maezawa Magariya Museum", watermill, iris garden, etc., and you can enjoy the nostalgic scenery of Japan slowly.

Please stop by when you visit from Shiobara Onsen, to Minamiaizu Town's Tokusa Hot spring, Yunohana Hot spring, or even Oze in Hinoemata Village. It's a really great place.

I was very delighted at the luxury hotel "Yutoriro Nasu Shiobara"

Hello everyone.

Today, I would like to introduce "Yutoriro Nasushiobara" in Shiobara Onsen(Hot spring resort), Tochigi Prefecture, Japan.

IMG20210502082537.jpg

This hotel was named "Gensen Heritage Nasu Shiobara Bettei", but it was renovated and reopened in April 2021 under the name "Yutoriro Nasu Shiobara".

The first thing that surprised me when I stayed at this hotel was that it was more expensive than I had expected.

Originally, the exterior was beautiful, but I didn't feel that it was very popular, and I thought it was a deserted hotel. However, when I stayed at this time, although it may have been renewed, the inside of the hotel was bright, beautiful, luxurious, the service was good, and there was an open-air bath that flows directly from the source, which was the best.

Of course, if the accommodation fee is high, it is natural, but when I stayed, the price was 8,800 yen (4,400 yen / person) for two people without meals. If you can stay at this level of hotel at the same price as a business hotel, you will be very satisfied. At once, I became one of my candidates for a permanent stay at Shiobara Onsen.

The hot springs at this hotel are almost colorless, transparent, tasteless and odorless.
Therefore, it is a hot spring that suits everyone, but hot spring enthusiasts are a little unsatisfactory.

For me, it is best to stay at this hotel after enjoying the various characteristic hot springs in Shiobara Onsenkyo on a day trip.

It's a very good hotel, so be sure to check it out.

"Unomisaki", a national residence the most difficult to make reservations

"Unomisaki"(the cape of cormorants), the most reserved national residence in Japan, is located in Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture.

IMG20210425122937.jpg

It's so popular that even on weekdays there aren't many vacancies.
I actually tried several times to see if I could make a reservation, but I couldn't.

However, as it happens, the day I shot this video was vacant, so I'm sure there will be a chance to stay.
The exterior of this national residence is very stylish, and the inside of the building is very bright and beautiful.

In addition, the room overlooks the Pacific Ocean in front of you, and it is very large and beautiful.
You can overlook the Pacific Ocean from the hot spring bath.

IMG20210425131952.jpg

The cape of cormorants is also known for the capture of cormorants.
The cormorant fishing of the Nagara River in Gifu Prefecture was caught here at the cape of the cormorant.

Just walking around this Unomisaki while feeling the sea breeze will really refresh your mind.
Please come and visit us. I highly recommend it.

Golden Week (GW) Outing destinations that are less likely to be "dense" "Kamine Amusement Park" "Kamine Zoo" @ Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture

It is difficult to go out during Golden Week (GW) of the year because of the state of emergency and the measures to prevent the spread.

That said, it's a pity to keep your child in the house all the time.

On the other hand, you cannot go to places where there is a high risk of getting infected with corona.

So, if you go somewhere, it's hard to be "dense", but is there a fun place?

In that respect, the traditional "Kamine Amusement Park" in Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture may be good.

IMG20210418125059.jpg

What a simple and laid-back atmosphere.
Swing swings, small Ferris wheels, roller coasters that aren't too scary, go-karts, etc.

Next to it is "Kamine Zoo".
This is also simple and relaxing.
However, it is surprisingly large and you can see many animals.
The zookeepers are also very simple, but I can tell that they are thinking hard so that the customers can enjoy it as much as possible.

IMG20210418123708.jpg

And it seems that he has a firm policy.
Capybaras that enter hot springs are famous, but since capybaras are animals that originally live in warm areas, they do not have a habit of entering hot springs, so this zoo has a policy of "not entering hot springs".

Both "Kamine Amusement Park" and "Kamine Zoo" are ideal for families and couples, so I would like you to visit them. It is recommended as a destination for Golden Week (GW), which is difficult to get dense.

Far beyond imagination, Nemophila's Blue Flower Hill at Hitachi Seaside Park

Do you know Hitachi Seaside Park in Ibaraki Prefecture?
There are many sightseeing buses from Tokyo, so you may have been there.
This park has a really large site, and I think it's difficult to see it all only in one day.
There is also a large Ferris wheel, a small roller coaster, and a large lawn square.
IMG20210410124623.jpg

There are also two old folk houses of the early Edo period, and you can freely look inside.
The highlight of the Hitachi Seaside Park is Nemophila Hill .
Nemophila is a small plant that blooms small blue flowers, which grow in clusters on vast hills.
This time of year (early to mid-April) is in full bloom, so be sure to visit.
IMG20210410135420.jpg

Definitely impressed!

Superb view from "West Kanasa Shrine"

This time, I visited "West Kanasa Shrine" , which is paired with the East Kanasa Shrine introduced earlier.

The West Kanasa Shrine is also located in Hitachiota City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan like Eaet Kanasa Shrine.

This shrine is also in the mountains, and the road is very narrow.

Also, to get to the main shrine of West Kanasa Shrine, you still have to go up long and long staircases.
I'm really out of breath.

Up the long stairs, you will find the rough main shrine built on the rock surface.
Also, from the immediate side of the main shrine, you can see a scenery that you never imagined.

Please enjoy this West Kanasa Shrine with a video.

Hanazono Shrine in Ibaraki,Japan

I went to Hanazono Shrine in the Hanazono Valley. It is located in Kitaibaraki City, Ibaraki Prefecture.
It is a very old shrine founded in 795 AD.

A bright vermilion building suddenly appears as you walk along the mountain stream in the mountains of the Hanazono Valley.

This is Hanazono Shrine.

It's amazing that there is such a stylish shrine in such a mountain.
I hope you enjoy watching it in the video.

Climbing a mountain at a Japanese shrine!

Do you know Oiwa Shrine?

It's a very old shrine in Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture, boasting a vast site.
To be honest, I think few people know it.
It seems to be a shrine that is well known among the people living in Ibaraki prefecture,Japan.
I was told to go once, but I wasn't very interested in it and didn't go.
This time, I didn't have anything in particular, but because I had some free time, I decided to go there.
According to the people of Ibaraki prefecture, it is worthless if I don't climb Mt. Oiwa in the back of the shrine. That's why I climbed the mountain, althoug I got very tired.
And, as for the impression I went to, this is good!
Please check the video to see how good it was.
I think it's worth a visit.

A small hot spring inn with a thatched roof in Ibaraki,Japan

There is a hot spring resort called Yokokawa Onsen in Hitachiota City, Ibaraki Prefecture,Japan.
Although it is a hot spring, the temperature is low, so to be precise, it is a "mineral spring",
Anyway, the quality of the spring is excellent. It is an alkaline simple sulfur spring, and the hot water
is very slimy.

There are 3 inns in Yokokawa Onsen. Today I introduce you the Tomoeya Inn.
To do.

GH010188_Moment.jpg

Tomoeya Inn is a hot spring inn that boasts a history and tradition of about 130 years.
As is mentioned in the title of this blog, it is a thatched-roof inn and you will find a hearth in there.

The hot spring is only a small indoor bath and there is no open-air bath, but there is no choice to protect valuable resources.

VID_20210131_123112_Moment (2).jpg

When you open the window of the bathroom, fresh air comes in and you can see the outside scenery.
You will be able to enjoy a very pleasant bath.

Yokokawa hot spring is not a major hot spring area at all, but I can recommend it with confidence about the quality of the spring.

If you have a chance, please visit here.

Year to go year to come / New Year at a rural temple and shrine in the snow

Happy New Year.

I spent the year-end and New Year holidays in the snowy Hokuriku region.

On New Year's Eve, after ringing the " joya no kane" at a temple called "Shyokusyo-ji Temple" in Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture, we visited the adjacent "Okafuto Shrine" for the first time of the new year.

Joya no kane is one of the annual events held in Japanese Buddhism during the year-end and New Year holidays. It is to slap the temple bell at midnight on December 31st (New Year's Eve). Joya no kane is struck 108 times in many temples.

GH010125_Moment (3).jpg

It was a cold day with heavy snowfall, but thanks to that, it was very quiet.
In a calm atmosphere, you can hear the sound of the joya no kane from temples here and there.

Neither "Shyokusyo-ji Temple" nor "Okafuto Shrine" are tourist destinations.
They have been in the lives of local people for a long time.

Please enjoy the atmosphere of the year-end and New Year holidays in the Japanese countryside.

Is Matsushima Bay really one of the three most scenic spots in Japan?

I went to Matsushima Bay, one of the three most scenic spots in Japan.

IMG_20201122_155515.jpg

There are many wonderful places in Japan that are not well known.
Meanwhile, I went to see if the Matsushima Bay in Miyagi prefecture, which has long been said to be one of the three most scenic spots in Japan, really deserves the name of one of the three most scenic spots in Japan!

Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I couldn't get on the pleasure boat that goes around Matsushima Bay, but I went to Zuiganji Temple, a national treasure, and put them in the video. So please have a look.
