ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS

Outcomes

  • By June 2025, all students will have access to rigorous workshop instruction and activities in literacy that enable them to make sufficient on grade level progress as measured by 75% proficiency on the Spring Reading SOL.

Strategies

  • Utilize small groups and intervention to increase opportunities for students who need more practice to master standards
  • Use formative integrated reading and writing tasks (i.e. reading responses, annotations)

SUCCESS IN ALGEBRA BEFORE HIGH SCHOOL

Outcomes

  • We would like to see 5 sections of Algebra I honors for 7th grade in the upcoming school year, with an expanision to 13 sections of Algebra I for 8th graders by the start of SY26.                             

Strategies

  • Improve academic advising processes to encourage students to open enroll in Math 7 Honors or Algebra 1/H

SCIENCE

Outcomes

  • By June 2025, all students will engage in rigorous inquiry based, hands-on, and workshop model learning activities in science that enable them to make sufficient on grade level progress as measured by 75% proficiency on the Spring Science SOL.                                                                                                     

Strategies

  • Expand the type and frequency of formative assessments to evaluate progress throughout units and lessons, such as exit tickets, four corners, whiteboards, stoplight reflection.
  • Strengthen the use of scaffolds to support students’ development of rigorous science and engineering practices, including modeling scientific questioning, using graphic organizers."                            

CHRONIC ABSENTEEISM

Outcomes

  • By June 2025, all students will have access to attendance supports that enable them to attend school on a regular basis, reducing the rate of chronic absenteeism to a level below 15.0 %.                                                       

Strategies

  • MTSS Schoolwide and Site Intervention teams analyze attendance along with behavior and wellness data bi-monthly to identify students in need of Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.
  • Schools will implement practices to recognize good and improved attendance to reinforce attendance and strengthen student and family engagement.
  • Schools will share multilingual attendance materials with families throughout the year to educate families regarding the importance of attendance for school success.

DISCIPLINE

Outcomes

  • By June 2025, all students will have access to tiered behavioral supports that enable them to demonstrate appropriate behavior and conduct in the school setting resulting in a reduction in disproportionate discipline for all identified groups as measured by a Tier 1 score of 1.25 or lower.                                                                             

Strategies

  • Utilize an MTSS framework to establish and organize a schoolwide continuum of proactive behavior and wellness supports which will provide targeted interventions to students at different level of need.
  • Implement mandatory Tier 1 SEL and PBIS practices during protected time slots in the school schedule, including Mindfulness Moments, Community Circles for Elementary, and Restorative Advisory Meeting for Middle/High schools, alongside three Signature Practices at all levels.
  • Leverage existing structures to support discipline practices.
