A proud Region 5 native and former student herself, Ms. Norris returns to the Bulldog family with over 20 years of expertise as a dedicated educator and visionary administrator. Throughout the selection process, she demonstrated a seamless alignment with the leadership priorities identified by our students, staff, and families, proving herself to be a leader defined by strong instructional guidance, authentic relationship-building, and an unwavering student-centered approach.

Ms. Norris’s deep-seated connection to Westfield is evidenced by her impactful tenure as Assistant Principal from 2014 to 2020. During those six years, she was instrumental in shaping the school’s professional culture by hiring and mentoring over 60 staff members and leading a School Improvement and Innovation Plan that resulted in significant achievement gains. Her legacy is still felt today through the various school and community programs she spearheaded to foster the spirit, recognition, and support that remain hallmarks of the Westfield experience. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to serving diverse communities of learners and achieving measurable success for every student. While previously at Westfield, she led an ESOL department restructuring that achieved a remarkable 91% Algebra 1 pass rate for Multilingual Learners, and her dedication to equity continued at South County Middle School, where she oversaw remediation efforts that increased proficiency scores for students with disabilities by 15%.

Her leadership reached a new milestone as she further strengthened the Westfield Pyramid while serving as the Principal of Stone Middle School from 2020 to 2022. As the leader of one of our primary feeder schools, she successfully navigated the complexities of the pandemic, launching the "Portrait of a Panther" program and creating a family engagement center specifically designed to support households during an unprecedented time. Most recently, Ms. Norris served as the Supervisor of Administrative Talent Development for Prince William County Schools, where she coached nearly 90 novice leaders and designed professional development for school administrators across the region.

Holding Master’s degrees in both Educational Leadership and Special Education from George Mason University and being a Gallup-certified Strengths coach, Ms. Norris returns to us as a thoughtful, grounded leader with a proven impact on school culture and academic performance. This transition is a true homecoming to the community that shaped her values and vision as an educator. She is extremely excited and grateful to lead Westfield into the future, and we invite you to join us in warmly welcoming Ms. Meredith Norris back home as your proud principal.  Ms. Norris will take the helm as principal on Monday, April 20, 2026.
