Fourth Grade

Fourth grade challenges students to think more deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and make connections across content areas. Students strengthen academic skills while building collaboration, creativity, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Language ArtsStudents read and analyze complex texts, expand academic vocabulary, and strengthen writing across multiple genres, including research-based writing.

MathematicsInstruction focuses on multi-digit computation, fractions and decimals, geometry, and problem solving using multiple strategies.

ScienceStudents investigate electricity, sound, plant and animal systems, and Earth processes through inquiry and experimentation.

Social StudiesStudents study Virginia history from early exploration through modern times, emphasizing civic engagement and historical thinking.
