Exact Path
We are excited to introduce Exact Path, a new online learning program in reading and math that helps student grow at their own pace. Exact Path provides personalized learning experiences based on each student’s individual needs, strengthening skills and builds confidence. Not all Beech Tree Elementary students will have access to Exact Path.
At our school, Exact Path will focus on:
- Reading (Grades 2-4): Providing extra practice for students who are continuing to build their reading skills and confidence.
- Math (Grades 3-5): Supporting students who are extending their math learning and preparing for future courses like Algebra.
Students will use Exact Path independently at home for lessons and at school for the adaptive assessments. The program is flexible, engaging, and personalized to meet each learner’s needs.

Get to know Edmentum Exact Path
This year, we are using an online learning program from Edmentum called Exact Path. This exciting digital tool personalizes learning across grades K-12 in reading, language arts, and math. It starts by targeting each child’s academic strengths and weaknesses with an adaptive assessment, and then prescribes a tailored learning path of lessons, practices, and assessments based on specific strengths and needs. Your child will take the adaptive assessments at school but they will be completing the learning at home.
How will my child log into Exact Path?
Your child’s school assigned device will come home with the student. Student will log into Clever to find the Exact Pathicon to access the website. Students and parents are responsible for the care of the device while at home. Students will bring their device back to school the next day.
What if I don’t have internet access at home?
Parents can find options to access the internet at home by visiting https://www.fcps.edu/family-resources/technology/access-technology . You may also contact our office and ask to speak to our Family Liaison.
Where can my child find their work in Exact Path?
Your child will primarily spend time in the learning path. Here, students received one skill to work on at a time which can consist of a lesson practice and progress check outside of the learning path, a child might also receive additional assignments from teachers with a specific due date.
How will the learning path change as my child keeps working?
The short progress checks that assess learning at the end of each scale module also adapt the learning path going forward. If your child earns 80% or above, they have mastered the skill and can start a new skill. If they earn less than 80% they will get another chance to complete the lesson module before receiving a prerequisite skill known as a building block for additional remediation. Students using an adaptive assessment will take tests at appropriate intervals throughout the year; these tests evaluate their understanding and tailor their learning path as the year progresses. Your child's teacher will be notified along the way to keep up with the learning progress and provide targeted support.
Where can my child see their progress?
The rewards area tracks all progress and skill Mastery the child has made in the program.
Mastery trophies: Your child must be in 80% or above on a progress check to earn a trophy for that skill.
Challenge badges: Teachers can create personalized challenges to motivate learning. These allow the Educators to set goals around how many skills your child should aim to master or how much time they should spend learning on the program.
How often should my child use the Exact Path?
Students can enhance their development by focusing on mastering a new skill each month. To support this goal, Edmentum recommends dedicating 40 minutes per subject per week to their learning paths. Specifically, we suggest students engage with Exact Path for 10 minutes each day Monday through Thursday. If your child is enrolled in Summit K12, they should complete their Summit K12 activities first, followed by their Exact Path session.
