2026 Spring SOL Testing Schedule

-

Testing and Makeup Dates

Tests will take place in the mornings starting at 9:30 am. Please make sure your child arrives on time for school and try to avoid scheduling appointments in the morning on days when testing is happening. If you have any questions or need more details, please reach out to your child's teacher.

How can parents help their child?

  • Ensure plenty of rest the night before
A well-rested brain improves focus, memory recall, and problem-solving ability, while lack of sleep can increase anxiety and careless mistakes.
  • Provide a healthy, balanced breakfast
Foods with protein, whole grains, and some fruit help maintain steady energy and concentration throughout the test, avoiding crashes from sugary options.
  • Offer positive reinforcement and encouragement
Simple phrases like “You’ve prepared for this” or “Just do your best” can boost confidence and reduce test anxiety, helping students perform closer to their ability.
  • Create a calm, stress-free morning routine
Keeping the morning organized and unrushed helps prevent last-minute panic, allowing students to arrive mentally prepared and focused.
  • Remind them to bring necessary materials
Double-checking items like pencils, calculators, ID, or water prevents avoidable stress and distractions once the test begins.
