Reading Buddies

We are excited to celebrate a wonderful new partnership between Braddock Elementary and Annandale High School! Through a Reading Buddy collaboration with Annandale’s Spanish for Heritage Speakers classes, high school students are partnering with some of our 3 ^rd grade Spanish Immersion students to read, connect, and celebrate language together.

This experience highlights the power of multilingualism and biliteracy, giving students authentic opportunities to use their Spanish while building confidence and joy in reading. Our younger learners benefit from positive role models, while the high school students have the opportunity to mentor and strengthen their own language and leadership skills.

We are grateful for the collaboration that made this partnership possible and look forward to many joyful moments of reading, learning, and celebrating language together!
