Brookfield Elementary Schoolhas been recognized as a  Purple Star Distinguished by the Virginia Council on the Educational Opportunity for Military Children. This prestigious designation recognizes our major commitment to students and families connected to our nation's military.

We are incredibly proud of the work our entire community does to welcome and support our military-connected students as they transition in and out of our school.

We want to thank all involved in making Brookfield a supportive place for everyone.  Achieving the Purple Star designation required a dedicated, school-wide commitment to establishing key support systems, including:

• Dedicated Support - Brookfield has a dedicated liaison who helps support military-connected families.
• Student Ambassador Program- This group of students ensures every newly enrolled student, including our military children, is welcomed and supported during their first days.
• Staff Expertise - Our staff attended professional learning to better understand the unique academic and social-emotional needs of military students.
• Online Resources:Brookfield has a webpage dedicated to helping military families with easy-to-find information on enrollment, records transfer, academic planning, and special education.
• Division-Wide Commitment:Fairfax County Public Schools is committed to supporting military-connected students through a variety of activities and programming.
