College and Career Center

Helping students explore educational and career options, make realistic career decisions, and establish career goals

The College and Career Specialist works together with school counselors, teachers, and staff members to help students make informed decisions about post-secondary opportunities. Information and access are provided to explore college and career options, financial aid and scholarship resources, standardized testing preparation, military careers, apprenticeship and technical school programs, job listings, summer opportunities, and volunteer programs.

Hours:8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. | Periodically, the College and Career Center is closed for classes or meetings. Parents who wish to visit may do so by scheduling an appointment via phone or email.

College Fair & Info Sessions

CVHS will be hosting our inaugural College Fair on Thursday, October 9 from 9:30-10:45am in our gym. Juniors and seniors must register using this Google form to meet with dozens of college admissions reps. 

The College Fair will replace individual college visits with the exception of the following large in-state public universities. Juniors & seniors must register for CVHS college visits  in Naviance for the following separate info sessions: 

  1. GMU - Oct. 7 at 9:45am in the auditorium
  2. William & Mary – Oct. 14 at 9:45am in the auditorium
  3. VCU – Oct. 14 at 10:30am in the auditorium
  4. Virginia Tech – Oct. 16 at 9:45am in the auditorium
  5. JMU – Oct. 21 at 9:45am in the auditorium
  6. UVA – TBD
