Fourth Graders Experience History at Colonial Williamsburg
Columbia Elementary fourth graders reveled in their immersive Colonial Williamsburg field trip experience in 2026. Students participated in colonial-day games and hands-on activities, gaining a deeper understanding of daily life during early American history.
Throughout the visit, students spoke with skilled tradespeople who shared their crafts, products, and insights into colonial life. These meaningful interactions helped bring classroom learning to life in a powerful and engaging way.
Students also had the unique opportunity to encounter historical figures from the American Revolution, including General Marquis de Lafayette and James Armistead Lafayette, further enriching their understanding of this important time in history.
Thanks to the generosity of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, this unforgettable experience was made possible. The trip created lasting memories and meaningful connections to the fourth grade American Revolution curriculum that students will carry with them for years to come.
