Robert Gibbs
My name is Rob Gibbs, and I am honored to serve as the assistant principal at Floris Elementary School. With 25 years of experience in Fairfax County Public Schools, I’ve had the privilege of working as both a teacher and administrator at the elementary and middle school levels. Before joining the Floris community three years ago, I spent 19 wonderful years at Franklin Middle School, where I developed strong relationships and a deep passion for supporting students in their academic and personal growth.
At Floris, I am committed to fostering a positive, inclusive, and academically challenging environment where every student feels seen, heard, and valued. I believe in building strong partnerships with staff, families, and students to create a safe, supportive, and engaging school culture. My leadership is grounded in a sense of community and the belief that all children can thrive when provided with the right tools and encouragement.
Outside of school, I enjoy an active lifestyle and, most importantly, I value quality time with my family. My wife and I are the proud parents of two teenage children, and we love and care for a variety of beloved pets, including backyard chickens. Whether hiking, spending time outdoors, or cheering on my favorite football team—the Pittsburgh Steelers—I do so with the same enthusiasm and dedication I share with the Floris community.
