Staff Spotlight- Wafika Albani

We are delighted to welcome Wafika Albanito the Key Center community as our new Family Liaison. Wafika brings a wealth of experience and a passion for connecting families, having spent over 29 years supporting Fairfax County Public Schools in various roles, including parent volunteer, interpreter, tutor, and substitute teacher. She is committed to bridging gaps in communication and culture to help all families feel empowered and connected to our school community.
Wafika’s dedication has already been recognized, as she was nominated for the 2025 SEPTA Award and named an FCPS Cares of the Month honoree in May 2025 . Her connection to Key Center is a long one—she previously supported our school as an FCPS Arabic interpreter and substitute teacher. What she loves most about our school is the leadership that fosters a strong community and the dedicated staff who build meaningful connections with families.

When she's not at school, Wafika is a lifelong learner who loves building new knowledge, especially anything that contributes to holistic health. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Syria and is a certified holistic healer and aromatherapist. She also has a variety of creative passions, including cooking, home design, sewing, and flower arranging.
A true family person, Wafika is the oldest of six children and has been married to her husband for 47 years. They have two daughters, Sarah and Farah, who are both married and have a shared love for travel and adventure. Wafika has traveled to a different country with her daughters every summer, and last year, she even walked between 10,000 and 26,000 steps each day while exploring Japan.
Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Wafika Albani!
