The mission of Oakton Elementary School is to prepare every child for global citizenship by fostering academic excellence, creative and independent thinking skills, respect for others and the environment, and active community involvement. We provide a challenging and nurturing environment where children become enthusiastic life-long learners and embrace the role of well-rounded global citizens.

The staff at Oakton is committed to providing a supportive and positive learning environment and working in collaborative teams to support the mission of our school and meet the needs of all children. We systematically assess student progress and use the information to guide instruction. Oakton teachers implement instructional best practices to ensure that each student is challenged to meet their highest level of academic growth. We partner with our parents and community to ensure maximum student success.

Oakton's PTA works with our staff to support learning initiatives. They sponsor many activities for our families and students and promote strong community ties throughout our school.
