School Summary

Parklawn Elementary provides a world class education for all of its students who come from 33 countries and who speak 30 different languages. It is an exciting place for children to learn and grow. The staff is committed to the best in instructional practice, thereby ensuring high academic standards and a vision for developing the citizens of tomorrow. Unique program models enable staff members to immediately identify the needs of each individual and to adapt instruction accordingly. Parklawn's grade-level and instructional teams collaborate continuously to identify student and program needs and to design effective goals and strategies to meet those needs. The focus at Parklawn is on a rigorous program model to enrich student learning in alignment with the FCPS Portrait of a Graduate.

Parklawn's goal is to be a school in which the entire community is welcomed and actively involved. At Parklawn, we believe that "All children can learn. All children will learn because of what WE do." We have great Panther Pride in the fact that the "we" in our motto is every member of our school community: Staff, students, families, and friends.
