School Summary
Since 1932, Franconia Elementary School has embraced generations of children and enjoyed the support of an active, vibrant community. Originally a four-classroom structure, the facility has experienced several renovations and is again under construction through 2012. Enhancements will include a new library and art room, stage, updated classrooms, and state-of-the-art technology throughout the building. Franconia provides a strong foundation for all students by emphasizing active student engagement in learning and tailoring instruction to match student strengths and needs. Collaborative staff teams work together to clearly define goals and apply best practices defined by current research. Involvement in the Kennedy Center's innovative CETA (Changing Education Through the Arts) program, a longstanding business partnership with CALIBRE, and popular before/after school clubs enrich the school program. Many opportunities for family involvement sponsored by the school and a dynamic PTA further distinguish Franconia. The Franconia staff is committed to fostering the academic success and positive character development of every child. At Franconia, we're always "under construction." We're building tomorrow!
