School Summary

Virginia Run Elementary School first opened its doors in 1989 to address the needs of the rapidly expanding suburban community of Centreville.  Currently, Virginia Run Elementary School serves approximately 700 students, preschool through 6th grade.  The dedicated staff members are committed to providing each student with a quality education. This is best accomplished through a strong partnership between home and school coupled with a belief that children learn best when they are in a safe and challenging academic environment.   An important component of Virginia Run Elementary School’s success lies with our parent and community volunteers.  The dedicated and active Virginia Run PTA provides direct support for school educational goals, learning enrichment activities, after-school programs, and a variety of family fun nights.

Virginia Run is proud to be a Responsive Classroom school, ensuring that academic and social learning occurs simultaneously and are viewed with equal importance.  For more information about Responsive Classroom, please visit www.responsiveclassroom.org .

Virginia Run Elementary School takes pride in responding to the needs of our community while embracing our students’ unique differences to set the path for our students and adults to become lifelong learners.   Viking Strong…We Are One!
