Dr. Mandernach,
Excellent tool. Thank you so much. I am teaching my first class which requires students to participate in a CLC project for at least 5 weeks. I have had CLC projects in the past, but not to this magintude. One of the downfalls that I have seen is that CLC teams would need to be created during week 1. I usually like to get to know my students and their work habits before I assign them to a team to sort of balance the stronger students with the weaker ones. Unfortunately, the way that some of the classes are designed this is not always possible. Do you have any suggestions as to how instructors can incorporate some of the information that you just shared when CLC's sometimes start Week 1? You can also send your response to [email protected] . Thanking you in advance!

You may want to have students share in the biographies their approach to collaborative work and their strengths/weaknesses as a scholar... maybe you could use this type of information to help create more balanced groups.
