Fall Festival Celebrates the Spirit of the Season

Grand Canyon University’s annual fall festival brings together local businesses, churches and the community with staff and faculty of the University in an annual event that celebrates the spirit of the season. Last year the event was attended by more than 4,000 people from the surrounding community.

Featuring food and drink, live entertainment, carnival games and inflatable rides, the event is completely staffed by GCU personnel. More than 50 booths include bobbing for apples, bowling, bean bag toss, duck pond, soccer kick, rocket launchers, fish pond and dunk tank.

Nearly 5,000 people once again attended the GCU Community Fall Festival on October 29. This year, employees and on-campus students collected 2.5 tons of candy and gave it all away over the 3 hours of the festival!

Student groups and outside organizations hosted 54 games booths, including Rock Band, tennis and soccer, face painting and numerous carnival games.

Fourteen food booths served up hamburgers, chili dogs, tostadas and lemonade to hungry visitors. Twelve inflatable bouncies were a popular attraction and had waiting lines all evening long. Various entertainers featured all evening including the Mariachi band, Native American hop dancers, Christian comedians and magicians.

Bible Verse

"But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." (Matthew 6:20)

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your body. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
