Rebecca Blair Price (Bekki) is the Dance Director and Assistant Professor at Grand Canyon University. Price has been with Grand Canyon University since 2011. Price received her MFA in Dance from Arizona State University. Her thesis research focused on implementing somatic practices into the choreographic process. Rebecca Blair Price graduated from Slippery Rock University with a BA in Dance. She received her MFA in Dance Performance & Choreography from Arizona State University. Her thesis research focused on implementing somatic practices into the choreographic process. Price has been with Grand Canyon University for over 10 years. Price takes a somatic approach to dance technique instruction through a relationship with a developed anatomical knowledge and a focus on sensory information. Price’s aesthetic and choreographic style emphasizes the soma (living body) and physical components of dance. Her choreography requires her performers demonstrate a wide range of feelings and emotions demonstrated through kinesthetic dynamics. In addition to teaching, Price is a performer, choreographer, and producer of dance in the Phoenix community.
