Biography
Dr. Carol Pernsteiner earned her DBA in Management and her MBA from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She earned her B.A. in Philosophy and Psychology from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In her academic roles, Dr. Pernsteiner has taught undergraduate, master's, and doctoral courses in management, leadership, marketing, and research. She has served as dissertation chair, methodologist, and content expert on doctoral committees, and has contributed to doctoral course development and various academic committees. Dr. Pernsteiner has also published in areas related to hospitality and research. Prior to joining Grand Canyon University, Dr. Pernsteiner was a hotel general manager, leading the marketing, finance, human resources, and operations teams. She held various hotel leadership positions in major cities throughout the United States and traveled internationally. Dr. Pernsteiner also held leadership positions in several hospitality associations and Chambers of Commerce. Through her professional experiences, Dr. Pernsteiner learned the power of stakeholder engagement and commitment to those she serves. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys designing bonsai trees, playing the violin and piano, continuously learning, symphony and musicals, good restaurants and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Pernsteiner is passionate about creating learning environments where students develop both theoretical understanding and practical leadership capability.
