Auto ads settings let you customize the Auto ads experience on your site. You can use these settings to control which Auto ads formats appear, how many Auto ads you show, etc.
The Auto ad settings you can use include:
Auto ads

Intent-driven formats
Intent-driven formats place links or anchors called ad intents across your site. They rely on user action to show ads related to your content in a dismissible dialog.
- Uncheck this option if you don't want to show ad intent links .
- Uncheck this option if you don't want to show ad intent anchors .
- Uncheck this option if you don't want to show ad intent chips .
Overlay formats
Overlay ads are placed over a page's content without affecting its layout.
Anchor ads stick to the top or bottom of the user's screen and are easily dismissible. These ads mainly serve on mobile but can appear on desktop too.
Vignette ads are full-screen ads that appear between page loads and can be skipped by users at any time.
Turn this option off if you don't want to show side rail ads .
Side rails are ads that stick to the sides of your pages when they're viewed on widescreen devices, such as desktops.

Use the control to select where you want anchor ads to appear on your pages:
- Top or bottom
- Top only
- Bottom only
Side rail ads
Use the control to select where you want side rail ads to appear on your pages:
- Left and right
- Left only
- Right only
Vignette ads
In-page formats
In-page ads are placed within areas of a page based on the page's layout and amount of content.

Advanced settings
Banner ads

| Maximum number of ads on a page | Use the slider to decide the maximum number of in-page ads to show on your pages. |
| Minimum distance between ads on a page | Use the slider to choose how much space you want in between your in-page ads. |
| Find more ad placements on article pages | Turn this option on if you want Auto ads to identify more potential placements for in-page ads on your article pages. We recommend that you turn this control on as it can help to maximize the potential performance of your pages. Note: Turning this control on doesn't necessarily mean that Auto ads will show more ads, just that there are more potential places on your article page where ads could appear. How many ads are shown and where they appear, depends on what settings you choose for the "Maximum number of ads" and "Minimum distance between ads" controls.
