If you’re short on time or need to find the right words, Gemini in Gmail can review an email that you receive and suggest a relevant response. With Suggested Replies, you get a personalized message that matches the tone and style of your past written emails.
What you need
Important:Even if you meet the requirements, a suggested reply may not always be available.
To get a suggested reply, make sure:
- Workspace smart features are on in your Gmail settings . Learn more about smart features .
- Your Google Account language is set to English. Learn how to change your language .
Select a suggested reply
- On your computer, go to Gmail .
- Open an email.
- At the bottom of the email, click the suggested reply.
- Before you send a response, you can edit it.
- Click Send.
Give feedback about a suggested reply
Google Workspace with Gemini is constantly learning and may not be able to support your request. Because feedback may be human readable, please do not submit data that contains personal, confidential, or sensitive information.
If you get a suggestion that’s inaccurate or that you feel is unsafe, you can submit feedback.
- At the top of the suggested reply, click Send feedback
.
- Write your feedback.
- Click Submit.

Turn off Workspace Labs
To turn off any of the features on Google Workspace Labs, you must exit Workspace Labs. If you exit, you will permanently lose access to all Workspace Labs features , and you won’t be able to rejoin Workspace Labs. Learn more about how to exit Workspace Labs .
