From Gmail, you can use Meet to schedule and join meetings.
To use Meet in Gmail, you need:
- A Google Account, or a work or school Google Workspace account
- The Gmail mobile app or a supported web browser
- A compatible device with minimum system requirements
- A supported operating system
- A broadband internet connection
- A built-in web camera or external USB camera
- For web browsers, give permission for Meet to use your computer’s camera and microphone .
Show or hide Meet in Gmail
- On your computer, open Gmail .
- At the top right, click Settings.
- In “Quick settings,” under “Chat and Meet,” click Customize.
- Check or uncheck Google Meet.
- Click Done.
Create a new meeting from Gmail
- On your computer, open Gmail .
- On the left, click Meet New meeting.
- Select an option:
- To copy the meeting invite details, click Copy meeting invite.
- To share the meeting details, click Send invite.
- To open the meeting, click Start now.
- For work or school accounts, click Join now.
Join a meeting from Gmail
Important:If you have a personal Google Account, you can only use a meeting code to join a meeting.
- On your computer, open Gmail .
- On the left, click Meet.
- Click Join with a code.
- If you have a work or school account, click Join a meeting.
- Enter the meeting information from the organizer. This can be a:
- Meeting nickname, like “mymeeting”
- Code, like “abc-mnop-xyz”
- Click Join.
Tip:Meeting codes expire. Before you join, check the expiration date of the meeting code. Learn about meeting codes in Google Meet.
Join a scheduled meeting from Gmail
- On your computer, open Gmail .
- On the left, click Meet.
- Under “My meetings,” select a meeting.
- At the top right, click Join now.
