Batasia loop

Batasey (windy in Nepali), or Batasia as the British called it, gets its name from the constant wind that blows around the hill. This loop is at a slightly higher location than Darjeeling town . This famous loop now doubles up as a war memorial. A pillar and a statue of a Gorkha soldier stand in the middle of the park.
