In the wake of a devastating earthquake that struck Haiti in 2010 , Vincent Callebaut Architectures proposed "Coral Reef" as an innovative architectural and town-planning concept for reconstruction. "Coral Reef" envisions a three dimensional and energy self-sufficient village constructed using a standardized and prefrabricated module that "plugs into" a flexible ecological matrix.
